outstanding: Reviewed by steveat on November 7, 2009; This is our first of several reviews to come - we have been eating like kings all summer and fall; whether at home or out on the town. The Kitchen Table and Bluebird, although different in many ways, will come just as highly rated from us, but Hen of the Wood was really everything we had been looking for... and if they had a bar we would be there weekly. I know enough about restaurants to know that every night may not always be the same and I did read a handful of less than stellar reviews, probably from local zealots, but nonetheless, our night was pretty close to perfect. To keep it simple... we had great service, outstanding food and wine, a few new cheeses and a truly enjoyable evening on all fronts... We were also able to chat with the manager and introduce ourselves to the owner which put a nice, personal touch on the evening...felt like a real 'night out' instead of just dinner.; read more about this restaurant
