As good as it gets! This is the real stuff!: Reviewed by maximus on May 21, 2012; My entire family is from the NYC area and I grew up going to John's on Bleeker and the original Joe's, 2 of the very best pizza places in both NYC and the world. Pizzeria Verita is right on par with those places! The char on the crust is perfect, the san marzano tomatoes used in the sauce give it that perfect acidity and the fresh buffalo mozzarella with fresh basil....WOW! We also tried the arugula pizza which was different but equally as good. And the roasted to perfection beet salad with microgreens and fresh avacado (which was a perfect replacement for cheese) was a great starter. Not to mention, they make some awesome and creative drinks (pistou could learn a few things). The owners and the staff are extremely friendly and accomadating creating the kind of "feel at home" environment a high end pizzeria should. And the sorbet is out of this world. This place is absolutely going to kill it. Somehow they created a niche in a town filled with pizza joints which just can't compare...including flatbread.
