Not what we'd hoped for

We'd heard good things so we decided to try it out. We were seated outside at 7:40pm. Fifteen minutes later the hostess (we hadn't seen the server yet), came and took our drink order. Ten minutes later (still no server), she came back and took our dinner order. The glasses of wine were a bit skimpy and the carpaccio was missing two ingredients that were listed on the menu. I alerted the server, who we finally met, and she was apologetic, saying she'd be back with the missing items. So we waited....ten minutes went by and she came back with one ingredient (instead of just returning our plate to the kitchen to be re-done), and explained that there was a typo on the menu. OK. on top of all that, the carpaccio was not good. At 8:30pm we received our dinner, by then we were famished. No bread is served in the interim, fyi. Our chateau steaks were great, cooked properly, and the portion was reasonable for the price. I was feeling better. At 9:00 we were done with our meal and decided to order dessert.This is the real debacle. 20 minutes passed and we never got it. We'd paid our bill in the meantime, trying to expedite our departure. the server visited us, then the manager, apologizing. They comped us our wine and dessert, but never said they'd actually cancelled the dessert order, and we never asked them to. Finally, at 9:30, we just got up and left-somewhat confused and frustrated. One of the oddest dining experiences I've had. funny thing is, they weren't packed with people, and there were other servers. Not sure what the issue was but with all the other options in town, I don't think we'll be back. Oh, and i found a hair on our silverware, and one in my meal. Too bad, I had high hopes for this place.
