Kitchen Table Bistro, The
Belated Dinner Review
Reviewed by TonyO on September 29, 2008
My wife and I attended the Heirloom Tomato Dinner on August 26 and we had a wonderful evening (as always) at The Kitchen Table Bistro. Here is a recap that is as accurate as my memory will allow. The evening started off with a convival gathering in the bar area with some nice offerings from the kitchen accompanied by a choice of a couple of delicious wines, a Rose from Renard and a Reisling from Meulenhof. Both were excellent. The best food item as a mini B.L.T featuring the star of the night, an heirloom tomato paired with Vermont cured bacon. Simple and delicious. The guests were seated and the plated items began to make their way to each table. Some of the highlights included an heirloom tomato salad with fresh basil and olive oil, a seared scallop with tomato gnocchi (Steve's gnocchi dishes are always great), and a grilled Vermont beef tenderloin with a tomato/shallot jam and a side salad of tomato and potato. All pairings were well selected and complimented the fresh tasting cuisine perfectly. The evening wrapped up with a tomato tart with honey ice cream and a glass of some true nectar, Hopler Trockenbeernauslese (say that three times). Service was professional and friendly making for another great evening at the KTB.

This is how you do it: High quality ingredients served in a friendly comfortable atmosphere. Your greeted right away and started with a nice pickle sampler while you decide. The pastrami on rye comes with a side for $8.50 (or $16 for the NYC size). It was nice to see all YANKEE hats on the staff but alas even this NY style deli has been infiltrated by Red Sox Nation (but be nice, the young lady will be making your sandwich).

Reasonable prices, wide variety of options, and well prepared items are consistently offered at the Asian Bistro. The Creaky Chicken is always great.

Just an observation: Why are people giving **** ratings to restaurants with mediocre food and nasty bathrooms ?? I just don't get it. * - Sucks ** - OK *** - Average **** - Very Good / Excellent ***** - Excellent/ Incredible And what's up with reviews like: "The food was good". "We had fun". Thanks for the advice.............

How local is a place that serves food straight off of the Syso truck. The chicken fingers are $9.95 and are awful. If you can't get that item right, hang it up. However, Chad H rocks every Wednesday.......
