I may be sorry later when I can't get a table, but this place is the BOMB! Let's start with the apps... samosas like samosaman couldn't even dream of, ethnic meat puffs to die for. Abraham is among the finest ethnic chefs working in VT. They make 3 types of African sauce dishes. The veggetarian with the peas & coconut was my favorite, but get all 3... they are all fantastic. Get the curry chicken with fried plantains, amazing!... and next time I will try the chicken w/peanuts. Wanted to get everything on the menu, but the portions are large. Great selection of wonderful (ALL) South African wines. Now all I need is more excuses to get down to Windsor (about 15 mins from WRJ)

The only thing any good was the bread that was bought elsewhere. Everything seemed to have a teaspoon of sugar sprinkled on it. Was that supposed to make it taste good? Are you supposed to order fish by saying "hold the sugar." There was no culinary skill on display. Strictly heat 'n eat. everyone there seemed unhappy with their meals, I know that we were. I guess they only need everyone to go once...

Far Better than Most!

Very enjoyable place for a tasty (if perhaps a bit on the rich & saucy side) meal and very unique and unusual wines. had to laugh... the second our entrees were presented a server rushed over with the pepper mill and asked if we needed pepper. I asked if we did? She was flustered. BTW: the dishes as presented were perfect and needed no additional salt or pepper. Highly recommend the calamari and Charles Smith merlot. The duck and steak were cooked to perfection (but overly sauced) and the greens and sides were also a bit too rich & greasy for my taste. But if that's what you like, you probably couldn't ask for better.

It's a long drive to Stowe so when we decided to try this place for the first time, I decided to check their website to confirm their hours. They were closed when we got there. I guess it was just too much trouble to put a little banner on the site announcing that they were going to be "closed," rather than "open" for the hours they stated. I guess those "in the know" call ahead.

sandwiches & salads GREAT!

Came back and got a Philly Cheese Steak. Really Excellent! Tasted the chicken with apple cider sandwich... very nice. The House side salad with the string beans is fantastic and big. My only disappointment was that the mac & cheese was not good like last time, but was kinda dry and tasteless. Do they make 'em up in advance and freeze them or something? Looked the same, just tasted bland. My companion said it was just because there was so much cheese on my steak sandwich. Maybe. Will be back soon... I can see why so many guys are eating here.

The Mac & Cheese is dry, fluffy and delectable! The entrees were a little bit on the "direct from freezer" & over-oiled side, and they use too much oil/butter on everything. No rolls or bread served before or with entrees. Next time I will try the sandwiches & salads. But the wine list is a pleasant surprise, and the seats are comfy and they play a great music mix very softly and the lighting is relaxing.
