Sugarsnap
Over-rated, indeed

This is a place we want to love, but I just can't bring myself to it. The food is overwhelmingly so-so. The paninis tend to be dry, the coffee mediocre and the baked goods lackluster. recently, I bought a piece of quiche that was rubbery enough to make me think it had been cooked via microwave. The carrot-ginger soup was tasty, but it's also overpriced. We once ordered a bowl of orzo for a party and found ourselves paying WAY too much for an unexciting dish. I don't find myself stopping there anymore...

Viva Espresso
Best Coffee in the County!!

Viva's coffee is absolutely, hands-down, the best coffee within a wide radius of Burlington. It's made it almost impossible for me to enjoy coffee anywhere else. From the straight brew to the vanilla iced latter, there's no beating it. The smoothies are excellent as well. The baked goods are good, but not consistently excellent. And it's time for a good scrub-down as the place, as intended, is well used by moms & tots. Overall, an amazing addition to this part of town.

Over-rated?

I've been to this restaurant twice now and have not been swept off my feet as yet. The concept is compelling, but not well executed. It seems to confuse even the employees, who appear to not be entirely sure exactly what they should be doing or where they should be doing it. During my most recent visit, there were three or more employees behind the counter not doing much of anything at all. We were sitting at our table when one of them made eye contact and sort of thrust my friend's quiche out into the air as a way of gesturing for my friend to come and get it. She could easily have walked it over as there were no other customers in the place. The food I've tasted - Cobb salad, muffin, chicken and biscuit soup, ginger cookies - has been good to very good. But, the coffee was a let-down. But, then, I find all coffee to be a let-down in our post-Viva Espresso Burlington. The ambiance is nice...although the back tables seem relegated to a much darker part of the world. And although this may seem entirely irrelevant, the toilets are absolutely deafening when flushed...so, cover your ears.
