Kitchen Table Bistro, The
mmmm

My first time dining at Kitchen Table and hopefully not the last. My soup du jour was so delicious. I had a hard time deciding but was not disappointed with my Dayboat flounder and whipped potatoes. I ate every last morsel. They offer a nightly special vegetarian option as well. A great date restaurant or lovely place to bring your wife on your anniversary. There's limited parking on the busy weekends so they encourage carpooling!

Asiana House--Burlington
love it

My husband and I were in Burlington for Jazz fest and it was past 10pm. Nothing on Church St. was serving that late until we rounded the corner and ran into Asiana House, open until 11. The seaweed salad is delicious, I loved the tempura shrimp and my ginger sake martini was a strange but amazing combo. Any of the noodle soups are huge and a great way to fill up especially if eating sushi...The sushi presentation I especially enjoyed. Highly recommended.

Alchemist Pub & Brewery, The
great beer menu

The first time my husband and I ate here, we were pumped, a new place, great beer, good food. The next time we made the trip however, the bar tender must have been trying to close early. It was 10pm on a Saturday night, we were sitting at the table in the window and he began to sweep, then mop around the table. We would have stayed for another round, but felt rushed.

Positive Pie — Montpelier
beer and a slice

I love the atmosphere here. A night could begin or end here bellying up to the bar and ordering a couple of slices and a beer. It's without a doubt the best place to go for live music-there's room to dance! I always order pizza and I am never disappointed. I can also recommend the garlic knots and the Hot and Dirty Martini. Unless you're there with your kids or a big party, sit at the bar, open up your Seven days and make your plans, I bet you'll end up in the same spot you started!

Maple Valley Café & Gift Shop
our favorite neighborhood spot

It's the egg sandwiches I can't get enough of: upgrade to free range local eggs, have it on a bagel, with cheese, butter salt and pepper. The sandwiches are delicious on homemade bread. The coffee is fresh and hot and it's hard to pass by the funky gifts like a Jesus action figure or pirate lunchbox. This is the spot to pick up a gift when you're on the way to the party! I do it all the time...Try to pass up the homemade pastries like cinnamon rolls and chocolate turnovers, I dare you. You'll find yourself a regular there too...

Kismet
Best of Barre St.

My mom took me here when it first opened. My ginger tea and noodles were tasty, but I was so jealous of my moms Juevos Rancheros. That's totally what I'm getting next time! They had a polenta cake for the corn part and a creamy cheese sauce. I said,"mom, if it's too spicy we could trade..." She only gave me one bite...
