Bearded Frog, The
Definitely worth trying!

My boyfriend and I ate here during restaurant week, and did in fact take on the menu they had prepared for the occasion. I had a delicious, perfectly-portioned cup of pea soup. My dining companion had the calamari, which I tried and it was good calamari--crispy, flavorful, not tough or rubbery. Personally I like a more acidic or tomato-ey sauce with mine, as opposed to the aioli-like substance that they provided. I had a bone in chicken breast that was juicy and well-seasoned, and the plate came scattered with white beans and tomatoes (almost like a salsa)and some nicely cooked broccolini. Again, I had a green-tinted, creamy sauce smeared on my plate, which was good but really rich--and I hate to use that word due to it's vagueness, as well as the fact that I like rich things! But that's the best word to describe it. The dish would have benefitted from a lighter sauce or vinaigrette, salsa verde...anything! Something with less dairy. Sorbet and strawberry-rhubarb cheesecake for desert were both well executed and yummy. Aside from the food, we sat out on the deck on a beautiful night, and our server was perfect--knowledgable, friendly (but not overly so) and the timing of the food was spot on. I'd reccommend this place to anyone that hasn't been--while the food is nothing new or innovative, it was cooked well and served just as expertly.

I really liked the food here...while certainly not cheap, a friend and I treated ourselves to a smattering of what the menu had to offer. Our cocktails were creative and delicious, and we enjoyed a small scallop dish that was amazing. The butcher's board was nicely put together and very tasty--I could have enjoyed sharing that and been done with it--satisfying and sufficient even for a big eater like myself. But no, I kept going! Our asparagus salad, while seasonal and pretty, was a bit boring. I had the mussels, which were big and perfectly cooked and tasted fresh. I might suggest putting french fries on the side instead of in the bottom of the bowl ontop of all that broth (soggy), or perhaps a sturdier piece of grilled bread which I think I prefer. Our server was nice but seemed very young and inexperienced for a resto that touts such high quality food at moderately high prices. I have no problem dropping $ on good food and drink, but may be swayed by the exponentially better service and atmosphere of say, a Hen of the Wood or Kitchen Table type of joint. Overall it was an enjoyable, leisurely dinner and I'll probably be back in the future to try something else!

Hostel Tevere
A true gem!

This diverse establishment is an awesome find in a ski town full of overpriced, tourist-centric eateries and shops. Having grown up in Warren I can safely say that there has never been a place quite like it, and I'm sure most of the locals would agree. You don't have to be staying at the Hostel to enjoy an affordable, delicious breakfast or a drink at the bar. Keep an eye out for the chef's specials...last time I went for breakfast I had homemade biscuits and sausage gravy with a perfectly poached egg. It was amazing.

Being that this is a brew pub, the food here is pub food and is advertised as such. Some things on the menu are better than others--the few times I've gotten burgers they've been horribly overcooked. But the cheese fries. Oh, the gravy cheese fries. They are some of the best I've ever had. As a previous reviewer said, I'm not in love with most of their beers. I've always sat either outside or at the bar and staff have always been friendly. Overall, not a bad place to go if you're looking for some quick bar food that's still decent and a few beers.

I had been wanting to go here for quite awhile, so needless to say there was a lot of expectation...which this place lived up to. My boyfriend and I made a reservation, it was my birthday-we didn't have the greatest seat(on that banquette, in the middle), and it did get quite loud in there as the room filled up, however I ceased caring after a short time because everything was so good. Our server was friendly but still gave us plenty of space, which I appreciated. Upon eating our apps (salad, fritto misto), it was obvious that the quality of the ingredients that they use is high and I could really taste the difference--same thing with my filet, which was, and no exaggeration, the BEST steak I've ever had. I could have used a butter knife to cut it, the sauce was amazing...yeah. I loved the fact that the menu seemed to me to be unpretentious and consisted of traditional Italian dishes. I guess my point is that the quality and taste of the food was worth the price, which to be honest wasn't that high. For two glasses of wine, two apps, two entrees(one of which being the most expensive on the menu), and a desset, it was a little over $100. I have to admit I was a little skeptical about the fact that they don't have a full bar...as I'm prone to drinking a grey goose martini before I get my food. But our server was very knowledgeable about the wine selection, and the two glasses I had were both really good, so I guess if you're going to do mostly one thing(wine), you should do it well, and they do.

This place far surpassed my expectations and will probably become one of my favorite spots to eat. I love seafood, I love sushi, everything we ordered was super fresh, looked appetizing, and most importantly, tasted good. Even the miso soup was exceptionally done. To start we had some crispy pork dumplings and panko breaded fried oysters that were topped with a spicy mayo, and those were both delicious. I haven't had a lot of seaweed salad in my day but the stuff we got was amazing. I split a huge portion of sushi, sashimi, and maki with another person, and although the presentation is blatantly ridiculous(it comes in one of those giant boats that takes up half the table), that's part of the charm for me. I loved it and would definitely reccommend this place to anyone who enjoys sushi and appreciates fresh ingredients.
