Not good for vegetarians..
Reviewed by mconroy on January 22, 2013
We went for a special dinner on Jan 9th. Getting a reservation was easy on OpenTable and we were seated immediately. Had HeadyTopper on special for $5.50 which was awesome. Unfortunately, I am vegetarian and the menu was really hard to navigate. I bet you could have a really good dinner as a vegetarian here, but our server was not too helpful with that, I was pretty confused about what I ordered. Service was ok.. Ambience and bar were really nice. Probably won't go back for dinner. In terms of burgers, the options at Farmhouse are tastier and you get more "bang for your buck". Wanted to try this place. Tried it.. probably wont go back.

Great for a large party
Reviewed by VivaVermont on December 3, 2012
Our large party was seated immediately during prime weekend dinner hours. The service was pleasant and attentive. Everyone was very pleased with their drinks and food. The spaghetti with clams continues to be my favorite. If anything the portions are a bit small for the price.

First time since the move
Reviewed by jjadamsfb on August 14, 2012
This was our first time back into BB since they moved to St Paul St. A nice lite lunch was on tap. I had the pressed chicken sandwich with pate and she had the double burger. The chicken sandwich was the star, a lot like a banh mi but without the fresh herbs. It was a nice earthy sandwich to go with my Pims Cup. The burger kind of fell apart. I am not sure what it is with Vermont but few places have buns for their burgers that have enough structure to stand up to the toppings they put on them.

Mixed feelings
Reviewed by UsuallyEasyToPlease on August 7, 2012
Positive things first: I love the new location in downtown Burlington. The interior design is beautiful--Vermont-rusty, comfy and upscale, fresh at the same time. The service was knowledgeable, friendly, and fast. The drinks were exciting using fresh and local ingredients. While the food was fine, it wasn't as good as it was at the riverside location. It seemed to me as if the dishes had become smaller AND more expensive. At the old location, I couldn't decide what to eat because everything sounded so awesome (and whatever I ordered, it always made me happy!). At the new location, I had a hard time to get excited about the menu items, even though the dishes were good when they came. I did miss the candied bacon nuts, though! Please bring them back! All in all it was an enjoyable evening, but I just remembered being so impressed by the food at the old location that the new one left me longing for the old one.

New game in town
Reviewed by Geoff on July 20, 2012
The new chef's table at the Bluebird Tavern is fantastic -- so much fun to leave the menu behind and talk with Chef Michael all night. From the mix of appetizers waiting when you arrive to the shared desserts at the end -- it is a marvelous guided trip through the best the restaurant can do. Plus you can watch all the action in the kitchen. Really loved it. Geoff

Perfect summer dining experience
Reviewed by VivaVermont on June 25, 2012
This was my first time at the new location. We had a friend from New York City in town and wanted to show her a tasteful, local dining experience. Our meal at Bluebird was perfect from start to finish. We sat outside on a beautiful night, the red wine choices were excellent, and our free Vermont cheese upon checkin in on Four Square was heavenly. The spaghetti with clam sauce was one of the best entrees I have ever had - to die for with a cream sauce, clams in the shell, whole cloves of garlic and roasted tomatoes and leeks. I was so impressed with the food; I can't wait to go back!
