Great Food & Beer Selection!
Reviewed by tyro52 on April 30, 2012
My husband & I went out for dinner a few weeks ago and had some of the best mussels, ever. The menu is good, the food is better plated than described & the use of local farm ingredients is awesome! TONS of craft & local brews on tap, our favorite part about the whole experience! We'll be back, again & again!

Best fries of any VT restaurant that i have gone to! One of (if not) the best beer selections. Great place for Apres.

First of all, I love eating in Waterbury. Unpretentious in the village. NO parking hassles.Eat inside or out. Great spot to wait for a friend, hang out, get a snack or a meal. Food is always good-sometimes its great. I love The Alchemist but its too crowded and noisy-the Reservoir has a wonderful beer selection and a varied, reasonably priced menu.I've had soups, chili, hummus, fish tacos, salads, wings and been with folks who had salmon and ribs.

What a Surprise!
Reviewed by justavtgurl on July 26, 2011
When - as usual - the wait for a table (or even a seat at the bar) at the Alchemist was far too outrageous to consider, we walked down the street to the Reservoir...and I couldn't be more pleased! We had only a brief wait, sitting at the bar tasting some amazing local brews and talking to the very friendly and knowledgeable bartender, before we got a table on the deck. I ordered a venison burger (they regularly offer a different "wild game burger") with blue cheese and a side caesar and everything was not only made with local ingredients, but it was amazing. the lager and ales we discovered were a perfect compliment to the meal, as well. The Reservoir will be my destination of choice every time we are in the area from now on!

Good lunch!
Reviewed by anondiner1 on January 10, 2011
Met a friend here for lunch over the weekend and was happily surprised by the changes to this space. Last time I was in there it was the previous restaurant, and this is quite an improvement. It seems the menu is classy bar food, and they do a really nice job with it. Service was alright, a little flighty but friendly. Food was really good - Trucker burger and salmon burger we really enjoyed by both of us. Got a side salad in place of the fries (New Year's Resolution and all...) but my companion got the fries and they looked fabulous. Next time I'm in the area I would definitely consider suggesting we do lunch here again.

Solid with a few nice surprises.

The Reservoir is wedged in a great spot for beer lovers, and manages to make it's own mark. First off, the beer list is very nice. 30+ beers that seemed carefully chosen to the season and setting. There were several things on tap that I've never seen elsewhere. Pricing was clear and reasonable, a welcome relief from Burlington. Tap lines were very clean on all my visits. The setting is average. Clean, modern, and functional, nothing that stands out, though. Food is solid. Flavor/presentation is good, choices are varied. There's been a clinker or two (cheesesteak, nachos), but otherwise better than average pub food. The burgers are delightful. Reasonable prices for the menu items. Excellent addition to downtown, keep up the good work and tasty beers.
