The "twisted comfort food" here includes frickles, fish tacos and mac and cheese with add-ons such as lobster and pulled pork. End the meal with deep-fried PB&J.
Our House Bistro says...
The home of twisted comfort food is serving up oodles of unconventional mac'n'cheese selections, local game burger specials, frickles and deep fried PB&J for dessert. For weekend brunch, try a cast iron skillet-filling Hungry Man featuring the bacon-stuffed waffle encased in a Dutch pancake with eggs, ham, sausage, homefries and toast.

TERRIBLE service
Reviewed by VT dining enthusiast on April 25, 2013
I have been here for lunch a couple times in the past 3 months. Both times, the service was atrocious. I work in Winooski, and it seems reasonable that I should be able to have lunch in 1 hour or less. Both times, the flighty waitress forgot to bring menus, forgot drinks, and struggled to split the bill between 2 credit cards, and I was gone from the office for nearly 2 hours. Sadly, I won't be returning, even though I enjoy

Our new GO-TO spot after VYO
Reviewed by lisaku on January 22, 2013
Brunch or dinner--this spot has it all. We've loved every dish we've tried (and there are countless more we've yet to try). Hamburgers and fries, deep fried eggs benedict, pulled pork, chicken pot pie, mac and cheese (done 100 different ways), Shepard's Pie, roast turkey and gravy...have i made you hungry? what i love most, honestly, is that the food always comes out STEAMING hot, which is a huge pet peeve, and common bummer at lots of local restaurants. make your food hot and your gin cold and i am a happy camper. the service is always on, always with smiles. a winning place.

Don't look for gluten free here
Reviewed by Catalina on October 6, 2012
There were two two person tables open, but they made the three of us wait 40 minutes for a bigger table instead of putting the two tables together. I ordered the eggs which the menu indicated could be made gluten free. At this place that means just deleting the toast, as opposed to giving you gluten free toast. Pathetic. They did offer me some fruit instead. Eggs were barely cooked. Potatoes swam in grease with raw onions. Sausage tasted like meatloaf--pork with sugar and onions and no sausage spices. Another in my party wanted wheat toast, but they only had rye or white. Had to wait for butter for the french toast. Then they did not want to take our coupon. Dark and depressing. Uncomfortable chairs. Lousy food.

Poor Service
Reviewed by MDHake on April 1, 2012
We had breakfast here this morning. There was a bit of wait however nothing that was out of the normal. The food was great!! We will be going back to have either lunch or dinner. My biggest problem was with the service. Very slow and it took over 30 minutes for our food to be served. I understand that sometimes a kitchen gets backed up however I believe our server could have been a little more interactive and just let us know what was going on. It appears from many of the reviews, service seems to be an issue for this restaurant.

Under seasoned, Underwhelmed
Reviewed by AlwaysHungry on January 24, 2012
Tried out the lunch menu for the first time today. Ordered the Pulled Pork. Which should not be listed as a sandwich, but open faced. Bottom bun was a soggy mess, had to be eaten with a fork. While the pork was tender there wasn't much flavor. Came with coleslaw that was very under seasoned. Not enough vinegar in the dressing. No amount of S/P could help it. Also came with fries, which were the best thing I received. Overall, a very bland affair. Trim the menu down and focus on putting out good exciting comfort food.

Service is horrible -- worse than ever my 3rd time
Reviewed by dbouton on January 22, 2012
Too back the service at this little joint doesn't match the (usual but not always) fantastic food. Can you say SLOW? Unresponsive? Oblivious? Seriously -- my daughter and I came at 1:30 pm on Saturday. There were 4 other tables, all of them already with their food. 45 minutes after placing our order AND telling the server that we were in a bit of a hurry, we still hadn't receive our order -- which was only a grilled cheese+tomato soup, and a burger -- or any communication. Finally I asked if they could at least deliver the tomato soup (my daughter had to be at work 20 minutes later) -- got that, then it took another 15 for the food to arrive, at which point she had already left. My medium-rare burger was well done and dry. Not even an "I'm sorry" from the server. Paid up and left. Not sure I'll be back.
