Carbs are king at this neighborhood bakery that turns out breads, pastries, muffins and scones – and, for lunch, savory, stuffed croissants. The tarts are a Burlington Farmers' Market favorite. Closes at ?5 p.m.
Croissants to die for

I have not yet been to the actual brick and mortar Panadero but have been going to their stand at the Farmers Market religiously for years. Their stuffed croissants are half the reason I get out of bed on Saturdays during the summer! The chocolate croissants, slightly warmed by the sun, heavenly. The veggie stuffed croissant, incredible. I will miss them during the winter but plan to head to the actual cafe. And their staff that are always at the market are such nice people and remember me which I love.

Great North End Bakery
Reviewed by VTFoodLvr on August 20, 2008
Probably one of the best small bakeries in Burlington. The owners David and Lindsey are very friendly and always willing to help customers out. The amount of food you get for the price is wonderful. Its a great quick, stop-on-your-way-to-work place as well as a chill spot to hang out and chat with the owners or friends. Highly recommend their fresh baked bread. It's small, but wonderful as toast.

perfect simplicity

This is one of my favorite businesses in Burlington, food-related or otherwise. Why? They don't try to do anything fancy or pretensious, but what they do, they do perfectly. Their coffee is delicious and cheap, and there's always some welcoming bakery aroma to greet you. I think they make a different bread every day they're open. Their fruit tarts are amazing! I wish they were open every day, but then I might become obese.

Not on the Atkins diet

This bakery in the old North end is fabulous. For those of you who have been tasting the owner's fruit tarts at the Farmer's Market, now you can get them year round! The tartlets and croissant are delicious, while the bread is light and traditional.

awesome

This bakery makes awesome tasting stuff! The chocolate croissants are soooooo good! The ganache brownies to die for! The treats are are not ovelry sweet...that is because they actually have flavor other than sugar. The muffins are just the right size and not big, giant, calorie ladens blobs of yuk like some other places... Nice, normal sized cookies as well! Great coffee, too. Not many seats but a funky place.
