Authentic Italian dishes, such as gnocchi, braciole and “wedding soup,” reign at this airy, Dorset St. ristorante. Chef Palmisano’s family recipes figure prominently on the extensive menu. No lunch on Monday.

Last night my boyfriend and I went to Pulcinella's, our second time there. I had been CRAVING the fried stuffed olives since our last visit, actually I'm still craving them. The caprase salad (a staple in my diet) was delish and our waitress informed us that they make the mozz in house! Nothing better than fresh mozz. I ordered the melanzana alla parmagaina both times and my boyfriend got the calamari after our extremely helpful waitress informed him he would not be disappointed (he has had some terrible calamari in VT), and he was not! The texture was perfect lightly fried and not rubbery. My eggplant was amazing! The blend of cheeses melted on top reminded me that there is more to dairy than an aged cheddar. Our waitress even suggested some freshly grated parmesan on my spaghetti under the eggplant, something I would have never thought of. We will most definitely be going back soon!

    Run from the Beinets
Reviewed by Curmudgeon on March 4, 2010
My wife and I have eaten here a number of times and, while the food is good, it doesn't come close to Tratoria (downtown) or Tuscanos (Richmond). It is in a convenient location, so we decided to meet there instead of cook last night. Everything was okay until it came to desserts. My wife's gelato was okay, but the beinets I had were greasy and the dough was grainy. I could finish even one of them and that was enough to keep me up all night. So, the waitstaff is great, the atmosphere is okay, the food is good, but the desserts suck, and it being the last thing you eat is how you remember the place. We won't be going back for a long time.

    Great Experience

We brought my parents here for a special meal. My father's Italian so I knew he'd enjoy. We were not disappointed! All food was excellent and obviously prepared with passion. Love the homemade (yes homemade) ravioli. If you grew up on rapini broccoli you've got to have it here. Service and ambiance were also excellent.

    Authentic Italian
Reviewed by kho on August 8, 2009
Pulcinella's serves authentic Italian food in generous portions at a reasonable price. My mom is northern Italian and the pasta tasted just like hers. Fantastic! This is my new favorite restaurant in the Burlington area.

Food is fantastic. Service is fantastic. What a relief from places with Burlington pretense.

True Italian flair from a chef with immense talent
Reviewed by Merlin on August 3, 2009
Sammy Palmisano is a master of his craft. His creative talents are limited only by the market he serves. In Manhattan the city would flock to his tables and let the devil worry about the price. His intuitive culinary sense is tasted in all of his dishes. His Heritage and passion for the traditions of Italian Cuisine make a visit to his restaurant on Dorset street a must to any visitor/resident to/of Burlington. Ridiculously undedrpriced I heghly recomend a visit to Pulcinella's.
